If you want all the glamour of an old-school members club with all the perks of a modern nightclub, then you have to check out the Doheny Room in LA.
Unlike some members clubs, which can be very secluded to the point of being stuffy, the Doheny Room nightclub embraces the character of the best places to be in Los Angeles, with floor to ceiling windows allowing in streaming light in the early hours of the evening and lush greenery creating a fresh, wild, yet classy atmosphere.
The venue offers all sorts of seating arrangements, from standard bistro style tables, to bar seats, to booths, to couches. All of the seats are incredibly comfortable, so no matter whether you like to hang out at the bar, party with friends, mingle, or people watch, you will enjoy doing so.
Offering a relaxed, high quality dining experience with a refined take on contemporary American cuisine, it is the perfect place to start your night out. The menu, put together by Executive Chef Danny Elmaleh, is reasonably priced and the food is fresh and delicious.
They also offer a range of speciality cocktails, draft beers, and wine by the glass. Unlike some cheaper venues they do not use cheaper alcohols for mixing their cocktails, and their menu states exactly which high end name brand bottle is going into your carefully crafted drink. Their range of wines is very impressive, and whether you're having a bite to eat or staying the night, you will enjoy the right wine for the moment.
The bottle service at this luxurious club is an absolute must. At least once during your time in LA you need to treat yourself to this one of a kind pampering. The staff are unbelievably attentive, the drinks are flowing, and the party keeps on rolling in style.
Like many members clubs in LA, the Doheny Room closes a bit earlier than your standard nightclub. The upside is that it is open almost every night of the week and a perfect place to start an indulgent night out in West Hollywood. Parking is available for a small fee, which adds to the benefits of using the Doheny Room to start your night. And what is more, because it opens and closes a bit earlier the party tends to get lively a bit early too. So if you're not much of a night owl, you can still enjoy the luxury of the Doheny Room private members club without needing to stay up.
All in all, the Doheny Room has a bit of something for everyone. That said, not everyone can get in! Make sure to get on the guest list and/or reserve bottle service or a table. And you need to adhere to the dress code. It's business casual, so you need to be dressed at least slightly sharply. Men need to wear suits and collared shirts with patent shoes, and women need to wear smart, elegant dresses. Absolutely no sportswear, distressed clothes, or men's jewellery besides watches.
