If you are looking for a truly high-class lounge and club, with only the finest guests, Ling Ling nightclub in Oslo is a wonderful choice. Inspired by the Ling Ling club inside the Hakkasan in Las Vegas or London, and a vision of the same team, the Ling Ling nightclub combines a high-end version of the traditional fusion cuisine (in this case Cantonese-Norwegian) with an upper class nightclub experience.
The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous. True Hollywood or Cannes glamour. Obviously with the usual Hakkasan twist it provides all this class in a high-volume, high-energy club atmosphere, but it definitely has more of a fine members' club air than a typical dance club energy.
The Ling Ling Club has a strong focus on the lounge experience, with comfortable booths and tables, excellent bottle service options, and a chill, low-light atmosphere. That's not to say that dancing is out of the question, but it's not a priority. This club is all about relaxing, drinking, and meeting new and interesting people.
The outdoor space isn't often used due to the cold weather, but on a nice night you might find it's open so you can dance and smoke outside. This really adds an element of fun, as it opens the space right up and you can make the most of the odd good day in the Norwegian capital. Regardless of the weather, though, if you are looking for a luxurious experience at the best club in Oslo, this is the spot.
Although most clubs in Oslo have a minimum age of 20 or 21, Ling Ling is advertised as 18+. Despite this, the guests range in ages from 18 all the way up to their 40s, making for a very diverse setting. The one thing everyone has in common, though, is that they are classy, important people.
To fit in here you need to be dressed to the nines. Suits and shirts for the gentlemen. Cocktail dresses, not revealing too much skin, for the ladies. Smart shoes are an absolute requirement. And no matter how much you're putting down, it is basically unheard of to get in wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Sportswear is absolutely out. If you don't feel red carpet ready, you're not dressed enough.
This venue doesn't open very late. In Oslo it is rare for clubs to be open quite as late as in the rest of Europe, and people don't tend to stay out so late anyway, so even at venues open much past three, there isn't always much life. If you want to have a good time somewhere like the Ling Ling nightclub in Oslo, you need to arrive before midnight and be there for the 12-2 rush, when everyone is hitting the dance floor.
Getting in is impossible most nights unless you have a reservation. The restaurant, open by day from 11 to 11, is a bit easier to get into and highly recommended as well. But if you want a great night out, dancing and mingling, after dinner, you need to book a table.
