If a raver aesthetic is your favourite type of dance club, then you need to stop by the Solidaritet nightclub in Stockholm. As one of the best places to visit near Lastmakargatan, you will feel like you've been dropped into a genuine rave party, full of neon lighting, stark walls and floors that reflect the rainbow colours, and strips of LEDs across the ceiling, partnered with a nice, open dance floor and bold glowing signs.
The official age limit here is 23, but this is subject to change each day.
Solidaritet in Stockholm is one of the most popular nightclubs in all of Sweden. Like most Swedish nightclubs it is built on two levels, with the lower level focusing on an intense dance atmosphere and the upper level being more relaxed. This offers a great opportunity, freeing up the downstairs space for a truly energetic rave party experience, and allowing guests to have a few drinks, relax, and people watch in the upstairs.
The music focuses on electronic dance and modern commercial tunes, drawing in a high energy, youthful crowd. Some of the biggest DJs in the world have graced the stage at Solidaritet, playing amazing beats all night long. All of the music focuses on building an intense pace and being danceable. Whether you are there to dance, or to enjoy the sexy dancers hitting the dance floor, the music is ideal for the environment.
The drinks are served at a drink table as well as at the bar and are a good mix of classics and high end bottles. And if you want to play blackjack while you drink, there are actually a few card games available.
Again, Solidaritet follows a more European pattern, focusing on later starts and later nights. You want to show up before one or two, but if you're there at eleven there will be no life at all. An ideal arrival time is midnight to one in the morning, for the best of both worlds.
Although the music and theme may be very appealing to teens, the age limit is actually 22, so you can rest assured you will be surrounded by successful young people, rather than just teenagers looking to act out. If you are lucky enough to look your teens, you need to carry ID that is valid, such as a passport, to ensure they can let you in through the door. Even if you have got on the guest list or made a reservation, you will need to prove your age to get in.
Because of the easygoing nature of this venue, there is no solid dress code. Instead, just make sure you look sharp and sexy and ready to party. Anything from smart casual, to smart with an alternative edge, will help you fit right in. Just, again, be wary of dressing too much like a teenager if you want to make sure you can get in. The door staff may not be able to speak English, and you don't want to be there explaining yourself in broken Swedish and waiting to get in.
