La Gabana is the self titled best nightclub in Madrid, although many of its customers will also defend that title! With all the best in modern equipment and some amazing acts keeping the dance floor alive every single night, it is no doubt the experience of a lifetime.
This beautiful club hosts an insane number of themed parties and events, generally sponsored by a celebrity, DJ, or brand. Naturally, celebrating so many famous birthdays, product launches, and album releases, the Gabana 1800 Nightclub is literally crawling with celebrities. Expect to see a range of local Spanish celebrities, international models and athletes, and even a number of A-listers and millionaires as you party with Madrid's finest club goers. Enrique Iglesias, Cristiano Ronaldo, and a selection of Spanish political figures are some examples of the elite members of society you will see behind these doors.
The music is absolutely top quality. Top 40s and electronic music, yes, but also internationally acclaimed DJs, stunning remixes, and the occasional live band. What is more, they regularly host shows, with exotic dancers, cabaret, and acrobatic performances, among others. Be sure to check the schedule to see what they have on offer before booking a night.
Being such an exclusive, exquisite nightclub, it is very much focused on intimacy and privacy. Most of the club is divided up into VIP tables and booths overlooking a huge dance floor. This makes it an incredibly comfortable place to just hang out and have a few drinks, people watch, or dance with your friends, but not necessarily ideal for meeting new people. Which makes sense, considering that most of the guests are members of the modern elite, who value their time and privacy. It is recommended not to walk up to other tables, even if you see a celebrity there, and to try and socialize at the bar or on the dance floor instead. Otherwise there is a very real risk you will get kicked out for disturbing an A-lister's table. Ouch.
There are three distinct bars, all offering full bar service. This makes it a great place if bottle service isn't your thing, as there is plenty of space for ordering your own drinks, or for sitting and drinking solo as you watch the dance floor.
Naturally this is not going to be the cheapest venue. With most of the guests being high fliers, they are naturally setting their prices to cater to this elite crowd. Expect to bring some money for a cover charge even if you are on the guest list and have a reservation. The cloakroom is not too expensive, but can get insanely busy, making it difficult to retrieve your belongings. If you may be in a rush leaving, it may be a better idea to carry coats and bags to your booth. And it is wise to reserve bottle service, or to order in bundles for the table, especially if you are with a large party.
They also have a velvet rope policy, which basically means that the vast majority of people queuing are not going to get in. If you aren't on the guest list and don't have a table booked, you will never see the inside of this stunning Madrid nightclub.
